Meet Dr. Rabindra Basnet, the Physiotherapist Behind Kathmandu Kickers
At Kathmandu Kickers, player fitness and well-being are just as important as skill and performance. Leading this crucial aspect is Dr. Rabindra Basnet (PT), MPT, the academy’s dedicated physiotherapist, who has been with the Kickers for a few years now. He brings years of experience in sports injury management and rehabilitation.

Dr. Basnet plays a key role in keeping players match-ready by focusing on injury prevention, recovery, and overall physical conditioning. His presence ensures that athletes not only perform at their best but also build long-term resilience against injuries, something essential in competitive football.
Alongside his role at Kathmandu Kickers, he serves as the Head of Department at HAMS Hospital, where he specializes in musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. This strong clinical background allows him to combine medical precision with practical sports knowledge, benefiting players at every level.
His football experience includes working with Butwal Lumbini Club during the Nepal Super League 2021 and involvement with Brigade Boys Club in Nepal’s A Division. These experiences have given him a deep understanding of the physical demands of football and the importance of proper recovery and conditioning.

Beyond football, Dr. Basnet has also contributed to major cricket tournaments like the PM Cup, Ranji Trophy, and Cooch Vihar Trophy. He is equally passionate about educating athletes, having conducted multiple sessions on injury prevention, ergonomics, and nutrition for players of different age groups.
