What Makes Kickers Special? Our Families Tell It Best

At Kathmandu Kickers, we often say that the heart of our academy lies in our players and their families. But sometimes, words from our community say it better than we ever could. The voices of our parents and players truly show what makes Kickers special.

Jeremiah O’Sullivan, a proud parent, writes, “Best soccer organization in Nepal. Very welcoming and helpful, plus they have great communication. I’m glad my son joined this club.” His review captures what many parents feel when they become part of the Kickers community. From the first interaction, our focus has always been on creating a supportive environment where players and families feel respected and valued.

Jeremiah also shared this image on our Google reviews:

For many families, Kathmandu Kickers is more than just a football training center. It is a place where young players get international exposure and learn under professional coaches. As Suresh Kayastha shared, “Kathmandu Kickers is one of the best soccer organizations in Nepal. I am grateful that my son has the chance to be part of this club, where he can play football both in Nepal and Germany.” His son’s journey through international tournaments showcases how we help our players dream bigger and grow stronger through world-class football coaching.

Parents like Namrata Bista and Dikshya Khadka also express their happiness with heartfelt simplicity. “My son loves football, and KK is one of the best I have found for him,” says Namrata. Dikshya adds, “Best football academy in Nepal.” These short but powerful words remind us why we do what we do every day.

Uma Gautam appreciates the consistent quality, saying, “Good training, good coaching, good everything,” while Wangje Sherpa shares, “It has great services.” Every comment from our families motivates us to continue offering the best youth football training in Kathmandu.

What makes Kickers special is not just the trophies or the matches won. It is the trust of families, the dedication of players, and the shared passion for football that bring us together. At Kathmandu Kickers, our families truly tell it best.

We would also like to invite all parents and players to share their honest reviews on Google. Your feedback means a great deal to us and helps Kathmandu Kickers continue to improve, grow, and provide even better coaching and training for our players.

Why Respecting Opponents Is as Important as Beating Them on the Football Field

In football, winning is a big part of the game. Every player dreams of scoring goals, lifting trophies, and celebrating victories. But true greatness in football is not only about beating your opponents. It is also about respecting them. Respect makes the game fair, enjoyable, and meaningful for everyone on the field.

When players show respect to their opponents, it reflects true sportsmanship. Football is not only about physical strength or skill; it is also about character. A good player celebrates victory with humility and accepts defeat with grace. Respecting your opponents means understanding that they, too, have trained hard, given their best, and love the game just as much as you do. This mindset builds a positive image both on and off the football field.

Respect also helps maintain fair play, one of the most important values in football. When players follow the rules, avoid unnecessary fouls, and help an injured opponent, they create trust and mutual understanding. This kind of attitude teaches young players that true football is not only about winning but about playing with honesty and respect.

Moreover, showing respect toward opponents helps strengthen team spirit. When you respect others, your teammates are inspired to do the same. It reduces conflicts and keeps the focus on teamwork and self-improvement. In a competitive environment, emotions can run high, but learning to stay calm and show maturity turns a good player into a great one.

For football academies and clubs, teaching respect is as important as teaching tactics and skills. It helps players grow into responsible athletes who represent their team and community with pride. Parents, coaches, and fans should all encourage players to value respect as much as victory.

In the end, football is more than a game. Winning brings joy, but respect brings honor. When players shake hands after a match, no matter the result, they prove that real champions are not only those who score goals but also those who respect the game and everyone who plays it.

The Importance of Rehydration: Keeping Kathmandu Kickers Players Fit and Focused

The importance of rehydration in football cannot be ignored, as it helps players stay healthy, active, and perform at their best. So, staying hydrated is one of the most important parts of football training and performance. At Kathmandu Kickers, we always remind our players that water is just as essential as skill and fitness. When young players run, train, and play in the sun, their bodies lose a significant amount of fluids through sweat. If these fluids are not replaced, it can lead to dehydration, which affects both the body and the mind.

Rehydration helps players maintain their energy levels throughout the game. Proper hydration keeps the muscles working smoothly, reduces fatigue, and prevents cramps. When a player is dehydrated, they tire faster, react more slowly, and lose focus during important moments on the pitch. That’s why we encourage our players to drink water before, during, and after every training session or match.

Football is a physically demanding sport that requires strength, stamina, and concentration. Even a small drop in hydration levels can reduce performance and increase the risk of injuries. At Kathmandu Kickers, we teach our young athletes the habit of drinking water regularly, not only when they feel thirsty. Thirst is a late signal from the body that it already needs water, so regular sips throughout the day are better than drinking a lot all at once.

For longer training sessions or matches, sports drinks can also be useful. They replace not just water but also electrolytes such as sodium and potassium, which help the body stay balanced and energized. However, for most young players, clean drinking water is the best and safest choice.

Parents also play an important role in reminding their children to stay hydrated. Packing a water bottle for every session and encouraging kids to drink frequently helps establish a healthy routine. Good hydration habits learned at a young age help players stay active, strong, and focused for years to come.

At Kathmandu Kickers Football Academy, we believe that rehydration is part of becoming a complete footballer. A well-hydrated player performs better, thinks faster, and enjoys the game more. Water truly fuels performance, helping every Kathmandu Kickers player stay fit, focused, and ready to give their best on the field.

The Role of Respect and Communication Between Coaches and Players

Every successful football team is built on two strong pillars: respect and communication between coaches and players. These values go beyond the game; they shape how players learn, grow, and perform together as a team. At Kathmandu Kickers, we have seen that when respect and open communication exist on both sides, the team spirit becomes unbreakable.

Respect is where everything begins. A good coach earns respect through leadership, guidance, and care for the team. Similarly, players show respect by being disciplined, committed, and eager to learn. When both sides value each other’s roles, training sessions become more effective and the atmosphere more positive. In our experience at Kathmandu Kickers, respect fosters trust, and trust yields better results; both on and off the field.

Just as important is communication. A coach must communicate clearly so players understand tactics, expectations, and feedback. But good communication also means listening. When coaches hear players’ thoughts and emotions, it builds confidence and understanding. At Kathmandu Kickers, our coaches believe that communication should always be two-way, as it’s not just about giving orders but about growing together.

Teams that communicate well perform better during matches. They read each other’s movements, anticipate plays, and stay calm under pressure. This level of understanding can only come when communication is strong and honest.

Beyond performance, respect and communication also teach life lessons. They help players become better teammates, better leaders, and better people. In sports and in life, knowing how to listen, speak, and respect others is just as important as knowing how to play.

Hence, at Kathmandu Kickers, we continue to focus on building these values through our coaching programs. Our goal is to create not just skillful footballers but also responsible and respectful individuals who carry the true spirit of the game.

Bringing Parents Together: Kickers Football Tournament [Photo Highlights]

Kathmandu Kickers recently organized a special football tournament for the parents of our young players, held at Coupon Sports Center, Kapan. The main idea behind this event was not only about playing football, but also about creating a stronger bond between all Kickers’ parents from different locations.

We believe football is more than just a game. It is a way to connect people, share experiences, and build a community. With this thought in mind, the Parents’ Tournament was designed to bring everyone together in a fun and active environment.

The atmosphere at Coupon Sports Center was filled with excitement and cheer as parents took to the field. For many, it was a chance to experience what their children feel every weekend (at least): teamwork, energy, and the joy of the beautiful game. While some parents played with a competitive spirit, others enjoyed the chance to participate, laugh, and create memories.

More than the goals scored or the matches won, the true success of the tournament was the spirit of togetherness. Parents who had never met before became teammates, cheered for each other, and shared warm conversations off the pitch. This helped to build a sense of unity among the Kickers family that goes beyond regular training sessions.

We are proud to see such strong community involvement. Kathmandu Kickers is not just about developing young footballers, but also about creating lasting relationships among families.

How to Stay Motivated During Dashain and Tihar Holidays

Festivals are a special time in Nepal. Dashain and Tihar bring family gatherings, delicious food, and moments of joy that we all look forward to every year. At Kathmandu Kickers, we also understand that these holidays can make it harder to keep the same routine and energy for training. That’s why it’s important to find a balance, so you can enjoy the celebrations while also staying motivated for football and fitness.

Our Dashain holidays this year will run from September 29 to October 6, and the Tihar vacation will be from October 21 to 25. In between Dashain and Tihar, there will be regular sessions, so you’ll still have plenty of chances to get back on the pitch and stay sharp.

So, how can you make sure you don’t lose your rhythm during this festive season? Here are some simple tips:

1. Set small goals
You don’t need to train as hard as you usually do during the holidays. Instead, focus on small daily goals like 15 minutes of stretching, juggling the ball, or light jogging. These small efforts will keep your body active and your mind engaged in the game.

2. Balance food and fitness
Festivals are all about feasting, and it’s natural to enjoy. But try to balance heavy meals with movement. Even a short walk after lunch or dinner can help. Remember, fitness is not about restriction, but it’s about balance.

3. Stay connected with your team spirit
Even when you’re away from training, keep the football spirit alive. Talk with your teammates, share holiday wishes, or even challenge each other to small fitness tasks online. Motivation grows when you feel part of a team.

4. Rest, but don’t stop
Holidays are a chance to recharge, and rest is just as important as training. But resting doesn’t mean stopping completely. A quick kick-around with cousins or a morning stretch can keep you in rhythm without feeling like “training.”

5. Come back ready
Think of the holiday as a short break, not a pause button. When sessions resume after Dashain and between Tihar, come back fresh and excited. The energy you bring after the holidays can set the tone for your next sessions.

Parents often think of football as just a game, but it is a platform where children discover their strengths, make lasting friendships, and dream bigger. By supporting your child’s passion for football, you are investing in their confidence, discipline, and brighter future.

The program aims to empower young girls by developing their football skills, boosting their confidence, and promoting equal opportunities in sports.

The campaign kicked off in Dharan, where 84 girls participated with energy and enthusiasm, followed by another successful camp in Janaknandani, where over 90 girls took part in active training sessions. The academy’s experienced coaches have been focusing on teaching fundamental football techniques while also encouraging teamwork, discipline, and confidence both on and off the field.

Speaking about the collaboration, Shambhu Dahal, Senior Vice Chairman of SIPRADIAN Sahayata Sanstha, stated, “Our mission is to help every girl believe in her potential, embrace opportunities, and become a catalyst for change in her community. Football is just the medium; the larger goal is long-term social transformation.
